We run and support a variety of free events and activities for local communities every summer. In 2024 we offered sports sessions, music concerts, family activities and more.
- We offered Active Family sport and activity sessions every Tuesday in the summer holiday. Local clubs lead sessions of archery, dance, orienteering, skating, and much more.
- Our Music in the Parks program of free Sunday afternoon concerts included jazz, wind, brass and more.
- The 59th Cambridge Folk Festival hosted popular and upcoming acts at Cherry Hinton Hall from 25 to 28 July.
- The Mayor’s Day Out has been an annual event for over three decades, with thousands of Cambridge’s over-55s having visited seaside destinations by coach. This year’s day out was a trip to Great Yarmouth on Wednesday 14 August.
- A range of artists provided music, dance, physical theatre, visual comedy and aerial displays at the Out of the Ordinary festival on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 August.
