Funding up to £250 available to help young people to fulfil their sporting ambitions

The Sir Arthur Marshall Future Champions Programme is making grants of up to £250 available to help talented young sportspeople achieve sporting success and reduce the costs often associated with playing sport at a county or regional level.

Applications are open to 11 to 15 year olds who live in either Cambridge or South Cambridgeshire, play the majority of their sport in the city, and compete at county or regional level. Priority is given to applicants that participate in Olympic and Paralympic sports.

Applications close on Monday 14 October at 5pm.

Since the programme began, it has helped support young athletes competing in a range of sports including swimming, judo, triathlon, table tennis, pentathlon, athletics, diving, tennis, kayaking and more.

Grants can be awarded to cover the cost of things like coaching, equipment, travel and entry fees.

An awards ceremony will be hosted at Marshall’s of Cambridge Airport on Thursday 11 November and applicants need to ensure they can attend to receive their funding.

The Sir Arthur Marshall Future Champions Programme is administered by Cambridge City Council and sponsored by Marshall of Cambridge

Full details of the grant and how to apply can be found on the Future Champions grants page.
