Table tennis

We have installed more than 20 table tennis (also known as ping-pong) tables at popular locations around Cambridge. We have also provided roll-away tables at many community centres and similar venues. They are all free for anybody to use.

Many of the tables are on our parks and open spaces, with bats and balls available to borrow from nearby kiosks or community centres. For some of the more remote locations it is a good idea to bring your own equipment.

We have provided these tables with help from the Ping! campaign, which aims to get people playing table tennis in city green spaces around the UK. It’s funded by Sport England and led by Table Tennis England.

Ping! parlour

The Ping! parlour at the Grafton shopping centre has closed so the site can be redeveloped.

We are working with Ping! to find a new suitable location for the parlour. Contact us at parksandrecreation@cambridge.gov.uk if you want to ask about progress on this.

Table tennis sessions

‘Bat and chat’ sessions

Join us for an informal game of table tennis, boccia or curling at the Meadows Community Centre. Booking required.

You do not need any previous experience of any of these sports, and all equipment will be provided. The emphasis at the sessions is to have a go and have fun, not to be competitive!
