You have the right to ask for a referendum on changing our governance arrangements from the current system.
A referendum can be triggered by a valid petition containing the signatures of 5% of the local government electorate.
The number of signatures currently required is 4,409. This number is equal to the number of local government electors who were registered in Cambridge on 15 February 2024.
The number is valid until 31 March 2025. The number to be used after this date will be published within 14 days of 15 February 2025.
