Applications are now open for a range of grants that will support activities and services across Cambridge.
Local charities, voluntary groups and community organisations are being encouraged to apply for Cambridge City Council’s grants to help deliver projects that make a real difference to residents' lives.
Previous grants have funded everything from arts and sports activities to initiatives tackling social isolation, improving mental health and helping families access financial support and advice.
Four grant programmes are currently available:
Large Community Grants
Grants of up to £10,000 per year for up to 3 years are available for projects that support at least one of the following priorities:
- Improving social or economic equality
- Improving health and wellbeing
- Strengthening people's sense of belonging
- Building a stronger voluntary and community sector
Organisation Support Grants
Unrestricted multi-year funding to help voluntary and community sector organisations plan ahead, build resilience and deliver long-term impact.
This grant can be used to maintain or enhance an organisations current delivery of benefit to city residents.
Sustainable City Grants
Organisations can apply for up to £10,000 to support projects that help Cambridge move towards a more sustainable future. Funding is available for initiatives that tackle issues such as energy use, waste, carbon emissions and climate resilience.
Homelessness Prevention Grants
Funding is also available for up to two years for organisations working to prevent and relieve homelessness and rough sleeping in Cambridge, helping provide support to some of the city's most vulnerable residents.
The deadline for applications is midday on Monday 22 September 2026.

Applicants should note that each grant programme has specific eligibility criteria.
As local government reorganisation progresses, this will be the last opportunity to apply for multi-year funding through the current programme.
