The following applications were considered at the meeting of Cambridge City Council’s Planning Committee, held on Wednesday 4 March 2026 at the Guildhall, Cambridge. 

• To build five floodlit padel tennis courts with canopy and a club hut at Cambridge Rugby Union Club in Newnham.
  Applicant: Padel Stars Limited 
  Decision: Refused 

• To convert the existing building at 66 Ross Street, Romsey to a six-bedroom house of multiple occupancy (HMO) including a single storey rear extension.
  Applicant: Mr George Panayiotou 
  Decision: Refused

• To alter the access for the land at Bateman Street, Petersfield including improvements to the roadway, add more bike parking for people who work at the Plant Growth Laboratory and make the footpath along St Mary’s Access Road clearer and safer.
  Applicant: Chancellor, Masters and Scholars, University of Cambridge 
  Decision: Approved 

• For a certificate of lawful development for the excavation of concrete foundations to secure five steel posts in place at Nightingale Avenue Recreation Ground, Queen Ediths.
  Applicant: Peter Mullord, Cambridge City Council 
  Decision: Approved
