The Housing Advisory Board is the main forum for council tenants and leaseholders to discuss matters relating to our function as a social landlord with us.
It provides advice, recommendations and feedback to help us improve our housing service. It supports the decision-making process and monitors our performance.
The board meets every three months. We publish papers from the board meetings, including agendas and minutes.
Six resident representatives sit alongside councillors on the board. Five are council tenants, and one is a leaseholder.
These representatives help influence how we run our housing service. Their contribution ensures the tenant and leaseholder experience is at the forefront of decisions that impact them.
Representatives can each claim an annual allowance of up to £1,400, depending on how much time they give to the role.
The current elected representatives are:
- Diane Best (leaseholder)
- Harmony Birch (tenant)
- Diana Minns (tenant)
- Mandy Powell-Hardy (tenant)
Contact the representatives at hsc.residents@gmail.com.
Become a tenant representative
We currently have three volunteer opportunities for tenants to join the board.
You do not need any prior experience. We will provide support and development opportunities to help you carry out the role.
Please complete our short short online form if you’re interested in joining.
Elections
All council tenants and leaseholders can vote for who represents them on the board.
Elections take place every four years. The next one is due to take place in 2028.
We commission an independent organisation to send a ballot paper to all tenants and leaseholders.
