Changes in your circumstances
Tell us about any changes in your circumstances within seven days. Failure to tell us could have an impact on your taxi driver’s licence. Read more about this in our hackney carriage and private hire handbook.
New name or address
If you move home or change your name, report and pay for the change on our licensing portal.
You must pay a fee for each licence that you are named on – check our taxi licensing fees to find out more. You can pay this securely when you update your details.

Other changes
Contact us by email to tell us about any other changes, including if:
- you change your phone number or email address
- your medical condition changes
- any changes or convictions are added to your DVLA licence
- you are investigated for any criminal offence, whether you are charged or not
Replacement taxi licences, vehicle plates and driver’s badges
You can apply for a replacement paper licence, driver’s badge or vehicle plates on our licensing portal.
If you are applying for replacement vehicle licence or plates, one of the proprietors must submit the application.
