12 weeks to wellbeing


12 weeks to wellbeing is a programme of weekly support and physical activity to help adults make positive changes to their lifestyle.

As part of the programme, you can choose a physical activity pathway and access healthy lifestyle workshops. You will receive weekly support to help you make positive changes to your lifestyle.

Activities include swimming, fitness, gym and dance. With different activities, times and locations to choose from, you will hopefully find an option that interests you and fits your routine. Expert local sports and physical activity partners run the sessions.

The workshops are led by wellbeing experts every other Thursday evening. Topics include nutrition, setting goals, and sleep and stress management.

We deliver the programme with funding from Cambridgeshire County Council.

Eligibility

We invite referrals from anybody who meets all the following criteria.

  • You must live in Cambridgeshire or be registered with a GP in the county.
  • You must be aged 18 or older.
  • You must have a body mass index (BMI) of 25 or more – check with the NHS’s BMI calculator.
    • If you are from an Asian, Middle Eastern, Black African or African-Caribbean background, your BMI must be above 23. 
  • You must not currently be taking part in any regular structured physical activity, such as an exercise class or group session.
  • You must be committed to making a positive change to your lifestyle and dedicate time to attend the programme sessions.
